Nichole Christie, MSW, LCSW
I was born and raised in Lower Michigan before making the move to Madison to earn my Master's degree in Clinical Social Work. What started as a move for graduate school quickly turned into a place that felt like home, and I've been fortunate to build both my career and life here in Wisconsin.
Over the years, I've had the opportunity to work with adults in a variety of settings, each shaping the therapist I am today. My early career included intensive work in crisis stabilization, addiction treatment with veterans, and supporting individuals living with severe and persistent mental illnesses. Those experiences taught me the importance of meeting people with compassion, staying grounded during life's hardest moments, and believing in each person's capacity for growth and healing.
Today, I work exclusively with adults in outpatient therapy, helping people navigate anxiety, OCD, depression, grief, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, and the many stressors that come with being human. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready to make a change, my goal is to provide a space where you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment or pressure. I believe the therapeutic relationship is built on genuine human connection, so while I'll always show up as your therapist, I also show up as a real person: authentic, approachable, and with a personality of my own. Therapy doesn't have to feel overly formal to be meaningful. Our work together is grounded in evidence-based practices, and I also believe that therapy works best when it feels like two real people having honest conversations.
Grief and trauma are areas that are especially meaningful to me, both professionally and personally. Through my own experiences with grief, I've come to appreciate how deeply loss can shape every part of our lives. That perspective, combined with my clinical training, has fueled a genuine passion for helping others navigate loss, process painful experiences, and rediscover hope. I know that healing isn't about "moving on" or forgetting—it's about finding a way to carry your experiences that allows you to continue living a meaningful, fulfilling life.
